Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  1. Carry out the review and interpretation pf pre-employment assessment/pre-placement health screening.
  2. Carry out regulatory and statutory health screening and health surveillance programmes.
  3. Health checks to include measurement of blood pressure, pulse, height and weight, BMI; urinalysis; hearing tests via audiometry; lung function testing via spirometry; visual acuity and colour vision to occupational standards.
  4. Identify situations requiring escalation of a clinical case within the OH team. The escalation process may be required for pre-employment and in role health screening assessments.
  5. Assist with specific tasks relating to clinical and administrative work to support the wider OH team.
  6. Ability to operate computerised record system and software that supports OH processes.
  7. Assist in the provision of statistical data / analysis / evaluation of OH health initiatives to inform future work.
  8. To set up for a clinic, be able to undertake validate/calibrate and maintain the equipment following any cleaning regimes. Maintaining appropriate stock levels of clinical supplies/consumables.
  9. Ensure medical and personal confidentiality is maintained. Responsibility to ensure full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018 and to ensure data security is maintained.
  10. At all times comply with OHU policies, procedures, and practices.
  11. Uphold similar professional and organisational standards to those expected of a professional nursing practitioner.
  12. To act as a representative for OH services at meetings and appropriate working parties within the organisation. Working collaboratively with OH, Health & Safety, HR and key stakeholders.
  13. Attend as required any training courses that will contribute to the effective performance of the postholder. Contributing to the formulation and implementation of their personal professional development programme, as supported by senior OH colleagues.
  14. As the post holder will be supporting employees and volunteers across the county there may be a degree of travel required to bring certain services, such as fitness for task medicals, to a location convenient for the workforce.
  15. To undertake such other duties commensurate with the post as may be required for the safe and effective performance of the job.
