Your purpose will be to deliver a safe and effective Occupational Health service to the client as part of the Occupational Health team. To support the delivery and promotion of the health, safety and wellbeing of the workforce in accordance with the people strategy and Occupational Health strategy. To provide a full range of Occupational Health services including case management, wellbeing promotion, screening and other service delivery.
Your responsibilities will be, to undertake case management and provide advice to staff. Undertake pre-placement health assessments fitness for task assessments, for specific roles and undertake health surveillance tests including spirometry and audiometry in the absence of the screening nurse. Give advice and guidance on occupational health matters to clients at all levels to facilitate effective management of staff and the provision of a healthy working environment balancing clinical/ethical requirements with the needs of the business.
You will also over see the safe storage and administer vaccines that are required for operational purposes, obtain venous blood samples to assist with diagnosis. Represent the Occupational unit at internal and external meetings, events and seminars when required.
Knowledge and Experience: Recent experience of working in a clinical or medical service/public sector. Demonstrate experience of delivering a health surveillance program with the practical application. Demonstrate experience of leading on projects to timescales and the ability to cope with work demands and pressures. To be on part 3 of the NMC Register or demonstrate through practice portfolio equivalent experience. Experience of developing and delivering health promotion. Qualification or experience in hand arm vibration testing.
