An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Health and Wellbeing department as an Occupational Health Adviser on a full-time basis at our client’s site in Chelmsford, Essex.


The main purpose of this role is to support Organisational requirements within the Health and Wellbeing arena through a comprehensive Occupational Health advisory service. This will include managing their own case load, undertaking health surveillance activity, developing and providing innovative, pro-active initiatives force-wide and delivery of occupational health services service in support of the Occupational Health Physician, to ensure that our client complies with Health & Safety legislation and considers the well-being of its workforce in a cost effective and supportive manner.


The Occupational Health Adviser will be a Registered General Nurse with a Certificate/ Diploma/ Degree in Occupational Health combined with a minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience in the field of occupational health, and Part 3 NMC registered.


Equally important is the ability to use negotiation, tact, diplomacy and patience to influence the behaviour of others. The post holder will also be able to make logical/ realistic decisions after gathering and weighing up the available evidence and considering options.


This is a challenging role that requires the successful candidate to be organised, methodical, flexible, proactive and motivated with the ability to organise and prioritise his/her own workload and strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building effective working relationships and providing coaching and presenting educational material to officers and staff, whilst demonstrating a supportive and compassionate approach to clients utilising the services of the department.
