- The successful applicant will be suitably qualified, preferably to degree level, and must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Occupational Health). Candidates should have excellent IT and communication skills and be comfortable interacting at all levels from director to employee.
- The applicant will work as part of a small team of 5 OHAs and 2 Support Staff, and will report to the OH Manager. Managing their own work and diaries, they will undertake a range of duties within their defined geographical region, including coordinating Occupational Health Link Nurses activities and working closely with local Human Resource coordinators. The role includes pre-placement screening, health surveillance, clinical case management, co-ordinating immunisations & blood tests, and providing timely advice regarding post exposure management of medical sharps injuries. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and review of occupational health policies, development and implementation of auditing of OH processes, audit of management of health risks and investigation of work related ill-health on site. Key to the role is implementing the corporate wellbeing strategy and programmes including the Flu vaccination campaign. Other duties may be required to support the OH Manager in ensuring the successful operation of the team and will be required to support other members of the team during sickness and annual leave which may require to cover other regions.
